This page covers how to keep gambling under control, where the independent help organisations linked from this site can be found, and what this site can and cannot do for a reader who wants to stop or slow down. It applies to every page of this build, not just this one.
Before You Start
Decide the amount you are willing to spend before you begin, and treat that amount as already gone the moment you commit it. Deciding in advance removes the pressure of making a financial judgement in the middle of play, when a run of losses or a near-win can distort what seems reasonable. Once that amount is spent, stop — do not add more to try to recover it. Chasing a loss usually means spending more to solve a problem that more spending cannot solve.
Staying In Control
Keep gambling money separate from money you need for bills, rent or debt repayments. Money that is already earmarked for something else is not available to lose, no matter how the session is going. Take breaks during play rather than continuing until you are tired or frustrated, since both states make it harder to notice when it is time to stop. If gambling stops feeling like entertainment and starts feeling like an obligation, a habit you cannot skip, or a source of stress, that is a sign worth acting on early rather than waiting for it to get worse. Talking to someone you trust — a partner, friend or family member — at that point, rather than later, gives you support before the situation is harder to unwind.
Independent Help
Every page on this site, including this one, carries links to three independent gambling-help organisations: gambleaware.nsw.gov.au, gamblinghelponline.org.au, and responsiblegambling.vic.gov.au. These are the only outbound links on the site that are not commercial. Unlike the operator links elsewhere on this site, they carry no sponsored marking, are set to nofollow, and open in a separate tab on the organisation's own website. This site receives nothing when a reader follows one of them.
Age Restriction
The eighteen-and-over restriction is repeated throughout this site, including on the front page and at the end of every operator listing. Each of the ten operator listings also closes with the same line: check availability and the current terms at the destination before claiming anything, because eligibility rules and terms apply there and can change without notice.
What This Site Cannot Do
Controls such as deposit caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods or self-exclusion are set up inside an operator's account. This site has no account, no form and no server-side application behind it, so nothing published here can switch one of those controls on, check its status, or enforce it. Nobody's age is verified on this site and no gambling takes place on it; any age check happens at the destination a reader is sent to. This site carries no advertising or behavioural profiling network, so nothing on it is targeted at a reader based on prior gambling activity.
Everything a reader can actually do with money happens after leaving this site. Each operator link redirects to a third party, and from that point the destination's own rules, checks and account controls apply — not anything published on this page. If you want to set a limit, take a break, or exclude yourself from an operator, that has to be arranged directly inside your account at that destination.
